Fishery Kolář, a. s. – Airlifts for the trough room

For the salmon fry hatchery at our partner Fishery Kolář from Velké Meziříčí, we supplied a KUBÍČEK blower unit, type 3D19S-050E, and aeration elements.

The hatchery equipment consists of 12 hatchery troughs, 5 m long and 1 m wide, with a volume of 3 m3, and three circular tanks, 5 m in diameter and 19 m3 in volume.

The elements are placed in the troughs as an airlift. Each trough has a vertical groove in front of the drain section for placing a plastic wall with a hole at the bottom for the drainage of groundwater. An aeration cylinder is placed above the hole.

The airlift has two functions in this arrangement. It supplies oxygen through the blown air and at the same time creates a countercurrent. This then increases the growth rate of the fry and slightly desilts the bottom of the trough. In the circular tanks, aeration elements are already installed at the outlet from the factory, which supply oxygen to the water.

Aeration is used mainly in the summer months when there is insufficient inflow and higher water temperatures. The trough and circular tanks can raise 100,000 salmonid fry up to a size of approximately 8 g.

We are thus successfully following up on the previous implementation of large, energy-saving blowers for central aeration of fish farm, which have proven themselves to be highly effective in two years of operation.
