University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice – Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters – Genetic Fishery Centre Vodňany (CZ) – Stage II.

We have followed up on the very successful 2022 project with the implementation of the next stage.

In March 2024, we are putting the aeration system of 11 small breeding ponds directly on the premises of the Genetic Fishery Centre FROJ JU into operation.

Two sets of KUBÍČEK ROOTs blowers type 3D28C-080E and 3D19C-051E are installed on a concrete platform on the embankment near the ponds. The air distribution is made in stainless steel pipe, which is equipped with outlets with taps. Aeration is provided by KUBÍČEK ballasted aeration fine bubble diffusers type ATE65DG in the design for fishery applications.

By changing the aeration method – replacing the less efficient floating surface aerators with a modern system combining ROOTs blowers and fine bubble aeration, we have achieved an immediate reduction in the energy consumption of the operation by more than 70%, with higher oxygen saturation of the water.

One of the main objectives of the Faculty of Fisheries and Water Conservation, is to ensure the development of fisheries, aquaculture and to provide opportunities for long-term sustainable use of the environment. That is why it is engaged in similar projects aimed at reducing electricity consumption in fish farming.
