Lnáře Fishery – Fish farm Tchořovice

In July 2020, we supplied a small set of heavy portable aeration diffusers and a mobile blower unit 3D19S-050E with a 220V motor, for the intensification of farm in Tchořovice.

Fishing in the Lnáře region has a long history dating back to around 1320.

The greatest expansion of Lnáře fish farming was recorded in the years 1745-1802, when the counts of Sweerts-Sporck lived in Lnáře. At that time there were 365 ponds in the Lnáře region, as well as days a year. The Sporck family were astrologers and therefore in the leap year they had the 366th pond (Malý Újezdský) filled. From southern Germany they brought to Bohemia a breed of carp, which was almost without scales. Because it shone like a mirror, it was named “Spíglák”.
